The prayer wall is a place where people say hard, true things about their lives. These are the few rules that keep it safe enough to do that.

Five Things We Ask

1. Write about your own life.

Your story is yours to tell. If a request names someone else — their illness, their marriage, their struggle — ask them first. "Pray for my friend" is always enough.

2. This is not the place for advice.

When someone posts something painful, the instinct is to fix it. Resist it. Pray for people; don't diagnose them, don't send them a link, don't tell them what they should have done. Being prayed for and being corrected feel very different to the person receiving it.

3. What is said in a group stays in that group.

Group conversations are not public and are not yours to repeat. That includes screenshots.

4. Nothing here is anonymous to leadership.

You can post without your name appearing to the church — but our pastors, elders and staff can see who wrote what. That is not surveillance; it is how we can reach out when someone is struggling. Post as though a pastor will read it, because one will.

5. If someone is in danger, don't wait for the wall.

The prayer wall is reviewed by people, not machines, and not at 3am. If you or someone you love is in immediate danger, call 911. For thoughts of suicide or self-harm, call or text 988. Then tell us — but make the call first.

What We Take Down

Every request is read by a person before it appears, so most of what would belong here never gets published. We remove content that identifies someone without their consent, attacks a person, spreads a rumour, sells something, or turns someone's hard week into a debate.

If You Report Something

Every request has a menu. Reporting takes it off your wall right away, and you do not need an account to do it. If someone is being abusive toward you, you can block them — neither of you will see the other again, and you can undo it under Me.

We look at every report within 24 hours. A person, not a filter. If we take something down, the person who wrote it is told why. If we leave it up, that was a decision someone made rather than a message nobody read.

The one exception to the 24 hours is the report that says someone may be in danger. That does not wait in a queue at all — it goes to staff and elders the moment you send it, whatever time it is.

If Something You Wrote Is Removed

A person read it and made that call — it wasn't automatic. We will tell you that it happened and why, in plain words rather than a form letter.

And you can push back. Reply to that message, or email jeff@christchurchmiami.org, and a pastor will look at it again. We get this wrong sometimes. We would much rather hear that from you than have you quietly stop posting.
